Welcome our New GHHS Assistant Principal, Brandon Bakke We are excited to announce that Brandon Bakke will join the PSD administrative team as our new Assistant Principal at Gig Harbor High School. Brandon brings 29 years of dedicated experience in education that will greatly benefit our school community.  Mr. Bakke began his career as a teacher and basketball coach before serving as a high school assistant principal for close to two decades in Tacoma and Sumner. He later served as principal of Fife High School from 2018 to 2022, where he led the school to be recognized as one of the Top 5 National Banner Schools by Special Olympics and ESPN for its commitment to inclusion. Most recently, Mr. Bakke has worked as the Director of Secondary Instruction at CharacterStrong, where he supported students and educators across the country in building positive school culture and climate.  Mr. Bakke’s expertise in character development, social-emotional learning, and leadership aligns perfectly with our mission at GHHS. His work in building positive school culture and climate has been featured in Washington Principal Magazine, and he brings a wealth of experience in instructional leadership, student discipline, and community engagement.  “I’m thrilled for the unique opportunity to join Principal Marshall and the staff of one of the most storied high schools in Washington, in a district with strong leadership and a commitment to excellence, and in a community passionately invested in its schools.
