Keeping Our Classrooms Healthy During Fall and Winter

Dear PSD Families,

As we enter the fall and winter seasons, we want to remind everyone of how we can work together to keep our classrooms healthy. If your student has any of the following symptoms before the school day, please keep them at home, as these may indicate a communicable illness. If symptoms appear during the school day, your student will be sent to the health room, and our staff will contact you to pick them up.

Symptoms to Watch For:
  • Fever: Oral temperature of 100.4°F or higher
  • Shortness of breath and/or persistent cough
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Rash
  • Severe discomfort (e.g., intense cough)
Returning to School After Illness:Your student may return to school once they are:
  • Fever-free for 24 hours without medication
  • Free from symptoms of shortness of breath and/or cough
  • Vomit-free for 24 hours
  • Diarrhea-free for 24 hours
We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school community safe and healthy! Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy environment for everyone.
